Travelers Bank offered me a considerable increase in salary to come on board to develop a system with Gupta SQL Windows a software platform much like PowerBuilder. I developed front-end applications with SQL Windows to interface with mainframe and created a SQL Windows library to be used on all applications. The purpose was so that the users didn’t need to interface with the mainframe screens. I quickly realized that I was not doing any Visual C++/MFC which I wanted to be doing and that Gupta SQL Windows was a very small market. This position really was a bad career move.
